Synopsis:

René, an elderly, nearly blind writer (freely based on Borges), travels the world giving conferences, accompanied by the young and beautiful Sibilla. She is his eyes and last link to the outside world.
Even though she loves him profoundly, the exuberance of youth leads her to be unfaithful to him on a regular basis. The story takes place in various countries taking the protagonists from Rome to Madrid, from Zurich to Bavaria.
In Seville, the woman takes a fancy to Manuel Fernandez, a young bullfighter, who captures as well, the fancy of the elderly writer, leading to an unexpected love triangle…

CORRIERE DELLA SERA

“From the existential poetic vein of Fabio Carpi, another page to be added to his film works consisting of internal special effects, of silences, and with enormous human consistency and expression.”

IL MESSAGGERO

“A film that is different, stoic, rigorous, coherent.”
