Tiziana Soudani

Amka Films Productions is active in the film and television production of feature films and documentaries. Founded in Switzerland in 1987, it became a limited company in 1988.  Among its many films, Amka Films co-produced Silvio Soldini’s box-office hit Pane e Tulipani, Alice Rohrwacher’s award-winning Lazzaro Felice, and the recent Favolacce by the D’Innocenzo brothers.

 

Tiziana Soudani (1955-2020), who founded Amka Films together with her husband Mohammed Soudani (director of Waalo Fendo, Swiss Film Award 1998, best fiction film) has been a member of the ACE, the EFA and the Swiss Film Academy and was for several years a member of the fiction/documentary board at the Federal Office for Culture and the Film Fund & Commission Südtirol/Alto Adige.

Among the many awards she has received are the “Los Angeles La Femme Film Festival” Production Award, the “UK-Italy Creative Industry Awards” for best innovative budget at the Venice Film Festival, the Ciak d’Oro Award with Carlo Cresto Dina as best producer for Leonardo Di Costanzo’s L’intervallo, the Repubblica e Cantone Ticino Award as best producer at the Locarno Film Festival and the Honorary Award for her contribution to Swiss cinema at the Solothurn Filmtage. She has also took part on the juries of numerous festivals, including the Zürich Film Festival, FrontDoc Aosta, Cinéma Tous Ecrans Genève, Festival du Noir Courmayeur, Festival dei Popoli Florence, Mannheim, Swiss Film Award and Pardi di domani at the Locarno Film Festival.
