Guido thought he had a quiet life until, one winter afternoon, an unexpected incident under the sheets disrupts his relationship with his girlfriend Chiara. On their way to the pharmacy to buy the morning-after pill, Guido suggests not taking it, forcing Chiara to confess her recent doubts about their relationship. It marks the beginning of a crisis, and Guido is soon compelled to pack his bags and leave home — but where to go? Unable to be alone, he seeks refuge in the homes of his parents and closest friends, drifting from one couch to another in the unusual role of witness to their lives and tangled love affairs…
