Synopsis

Semret is an Eritrean single mother who works in a hospital in Zurich and dreams of becoming a midwife. She does everything she can to give her teenage daughter Joe a better life. When Joe insists on learning more about her origins, Semret initially refuses to confront her past. But when she is unjustly accused at the hospital, she realizes she must stand up for her rights if she does not want to lose everything she loves.
