Synopsis
Forty years ago, 2,000 souls lived there; today Pietrapaola, in Calabria, has become the setting for just 200 residents. I was born there, the son of two Germans who somehow ended up there, and I hadn’t returned in twenty years. Where has everyone gone? And the stories?
This is the account of a journey back to one’s origins, a search for lost time. Guiding me are my imagination and then a man from my past, a keeper of memory and of music. The result is a narrative in which symbols and reality meet, and through which I come to understand the art of living — tranquillitudine.
