Statement from the D’Innocenzo brothers
“We are overjoyed by the numerous David nominations for Favolacce. We are grateful to the actors, the Italian and Swiss producers and the entire team who made this film at a very special time when the darkest uncertainty reigned. Because if it is true that the cinemas are now closed, let us not forget that cinema in Italy had already stopped, in a less bombastic but no less important way, during the trade union strikes of the cinema workers, who were never in the spotlight but are indispensable for the industry to exist and flourish. These nominations are dedicated to them. Finally, like all the awards that Favolacce has won so far, this umpteenth award necessarily goes to the memory of Tiziana Soudani, one of the most passionate and enthusiastic people we have ever met, a bulwark of wonderful films we have seen and reviewed and an unforgettable compass for all Favolacce’s brilliant journey around the world.”
